Dragons Head @ Rye. The shape of the rock piece jutting above the rock plateau gives it the shape of a serpent. This can only be seen on low tide, otherwise the rock is fully submerged. The rock is around 50-75m from the beach area. You will need to walk on the rock plateau itself to get close enough to see the rock formation. The rock plateau was covered with marine plants and still under 1-2cm of water.
Cape Schanck is the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula and separates the wild ocean waters of Bass Strait from the slightly calmer waters of Western Port. The rocks looked like they have been burnt. Pulpit Rock stands out just 25m from the shoreline at low tide. The climb down from the lighthouse to the water was pleasant with the boardwalks.
